This is What's Next

NOW we understand the elephant species more - we now know that they are capable of painting a picture. We now understand everything there is to know about elephants!

or

We now understand that we know NOTHING about ourselves and the living beings we have treated like shit for the last thousand years. Our hearts our now being opened to a truer capacity of our experience...

Alright, now the other Youtube clip was far sweeter: it made me laugh. The poor elephant painting a god damn picture for some stupid ass tourists was heart wrenching. I hate the exploitation of animals (and people, of course). I agree that it does not tell us anything about biology and species, but only illustrates our inane sense of humanity, arrogance and disrespect of living and nonliving systems.

We know nothing, I agree. The more we strive for understanding, the more we exploit. Perhaps we should try to understand our selves and our need to be "bigger" than what we are. When we step back into the animal community, as creatures of it rather than outside of it, we will gain true understanding and know exactly what to do with it.

There is an amazing culture of trackers in our community. I think you might enjoy knowing more about them. I'll try to find some info and forward it to you.

Wow! Elephants have always amazed me, due to their empathetic nature and family values. When I was younger, I thought they were the most intelligent creatures I've ever seen! They seem more intelligent than humans from this video. I agree that we constantly demean our fellow Earth dwellers, assuming that we taught them everything they know or that they don't know anything at all, when the truth is that we don't know ourselves. If we don't know, trust or believe in ourselves, then we won't know, trust or believe anything else.
